Robinson Park Playground and Court Renovation

Confluent Design led the renewal of the playground and basketball court at Robinson Park, a neighborhood park in Denver’s Hilltop community. Aging recreational facilities were replaced with new amenities designed to improve accessibility, play value, and long-term durability. The project also introduced a dedicated teen hangout space and an accessible picnic area, expanding the park’s ability to serve a broader range of users while reinforcing its role as a neighborhood gathering place.
The design responded to the site’s natural slope along the southern edge of the play area, integrating grading, retaining walls, and drainage improvements to create a more functional and resilient play environment. Playground design by Urban Play Studio incorporated inclusive play principles to expand accessibility and inclusive play opportunities.
New play equipment and safety surfacing were installed alongside a reconstructed basketball court, accessible walks, site furnishings, and landscape improvements integrated within the park’s existing tree canopy and surrounding sports fields.
Delivered as part of Denver’s Elevate Denver Bond Program, the project reflects the ongoing stewardship of neighborhood parks, renewing aging infrastructure while adapting community spaces to serve future generations.
